Rector Özer who visited London, capital of England to hold a series of meetings visited Paul Fear who is the head of British Accreditation Council (BAC). During the meeting, Paul Fear provided extensive information for Rector Özer on English higher education system and activities of BAC.

During the meeting, Prof. Özer provided information about the positive progress and expansion trend and current state of the Turkish higher education system. Besides, Prof. Özer mentioned Turkish Board of Quality in Higher Education established within Council of Higher Education and latest efforts related with quality assurance in higher education. Rector Özer also mentioned the efforts of Bülent Ecevit University in terms of quality assurance, successful accreditation practices in fields of engineering, arts and sciences and health sciences and the evaluation process of European Universities Association (EUA) which is currently in progress.

During the visit, the possibility of BAC evaluating BEU after the evaluation conducted by EUA and the advantages this evaluation might offer to BEU were discussed. Besides, Prof. Özer who is vice chairman of Association of Quality Assurance Agencies of the Islamic World (AQAAIW) evaluated possibilities of cooperation between BAC and AQAAIW.
