University of Indonesia (IU) Greenmetric World Universities Ranking conducted its traditional international workshop on 21 April 2016 in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia. In the workshop, Bülent Ecevit University was represented by Secretary General Ertuğrul Karalar and International Affairs Coordinator Dinçer Biçer. In the workshop participated by 26 universities from 16 countries, the participants had the chance to share their efforts and good practices in the fields of sustainability, renewable energy, water saving, transportation and education, which are the categories in GreenMetric World Universities Ranking.
During the workshop which is among the most important events organised in the fields of environmental consciousness and sustainability, academicians from a number of countries of the world had the chance to meet their colleagues and share experiences in terms of forming green campuses which respect the environment. The BEU representatives Secretary General Karalar and Coordinator Biçer met Prof. Riri Fitri Sari, chairperson of Greenmetric and invited her to BEU for the workshop in 2017. Prof. Sari who accepted the invitation said she would be pleased to visit BEÜ, which is the greenest in Turkey.
In the closing session of the workshop after Prof. Sari announced that the workshop in 2017 would be conducted at BEÜ, International Affairs Coordinator Dinçer Biçer gave a speech shortly introducing the environmentally friendly applications on BEU campuses and said that BEU would be pleased to host participants from all over the world.
